  • Photo of Traditional L-shape corner bench with no backrest

    No Backrest

The majority of our benches are sold without backrests, but you may want one. The base price for each bench is quoted without a backrest.

All bay window seats are built without a backrest.

  • Straight Backrest

The straight backrest option is 1.5" deep and 18" tall. The seat is 18" deep.

For L-shape benches, the backrest can run behind the entire bench, or just on one side if the bench runs under a window. U-shape benches require either all backrest or no backrest.

  • Photo of an L-shape corner bench with a slanted backrest on both sides

    Slanted Backrest

The slanted backrest is 18" tall, 4” deep at the bottom, and 2.75” deep at the top. The seat is 18" deep. Note: Adding a slanted backrest will change the total depth of the bench from 18" to 22"

For L-shape benches, the backrest can be on the back of the entire bench or just on one side. U-shape benches require either all backrest or no backrest.

  • Photo of a straight bench without a baseboard heating accommodation. This bench sits flush to the wall.

    No baseboard accommodation

You will not need a baseboard accommodation if your wall space where the bench will go does not have baseboard trim, if you are going to remove the existing baseboard trim behind the bench, or if you do not mind a slight space between the bench and the wall when you install the bench.

  • With baseboard accommodation

If your wall has a baseboard trim you want to leave in place, we can cut what we call a baseboard accommoation to allow for the bench to sit flush to the wall. This is a slight modification we are happy to add if needed.

  • Photo of a Traditional style straight bench with no venting options.

    No vent needed

If your bench is going on a wall without a heating vent or return, you will not need a venting option for your bench.

  • Photo of a Traditional style straight bench with vent legs.

    Floor vent legs

One of the most popular options for spaces with a floor vent is to add floor vent legs. This allows for airflow and cleaning under the bench.

  • Photo of a Traditional style L-shape corner bench with front vents

    Vent registers on front

If your bench is going in front of a wall vent, we recommend incorporating a front vent that will allow airflow to pass under the bench.

  • Baseboard heating vents

If your home has baseboard heating, this option has both top vents and floor vent legs to provide easy airflow and to keep your bench from getting too hot.

    No end feature

You are not required to add an end feature to either end of your bench. In fact, leaving it off one or both sides increases the amount of storage space inside the bench. We have many options so you can design the bench you want.
